Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the amount of information about diet and nutrition?
It seems like everywhere you look there is another theory about what you should and shouldn’t eat, how you should eat and when you should eat.
In fact, in almost every radio interview I’ve done, I’m asked how a plant-based diet compares to the Paleo diet or the Blood Type diet, etc. I make it a point not to say why a plant-based diet is better than the other diets. Instead I suggest that if you are really interested in what works for you - try an experiment to get the real facts.
Here’s how it works.
You’ve heard the phrase “Cut to the Chase.” What you may not know is it originated in the 1920s during the silent movie era when the “Chase” scene was usually the most exciting part of the story. Long stretches of silent dialogue as you can imagine bored viewers. So movie execs, knowing bored viewers didn’t return, would tell directors to “Cut to the Chase,” or get to the most exciting part fast.
So let’s cut to the chase.
Do you spend a lot of energy trying to solve diet and health problems?
Do you Google random symptoms - “tired all the time” or “can’t sleep” or “dizzy after exercise” or “mid-life weight gain”or “high blood pressure” or “Alzheimer’s"?
Do you read everything about health and weight loss and try to incorporate it into your life?
Do you want to feel better, but end up bouncing from one thing to another hoping for a solution?
Are you all over the map and I don't track results. Some things you thought worked but have no real way of knowing? BIG RED FLAG if you thought they worked but you just couldn't sustain it...it didn't work.
Do you not have the results you want- a healthy, strong body without stressing over food.
The Secret to discover the perfect diet for you
Treat yourself like an experiment.
Pick one diet ( we suggest whole food plant based, but you can do any diet) and track your baseline measurable health by getting simple blood tests so you know your basic health information at the start of the experiment.
Follow your experimental diet for one month.
Check your blood work at the end of the month. If there is measurable positive change, keep on your chosen diet for another month and check results again. Continue for 3 months. Checking progress at the beginning and end of each month.
In three months you've cut to the chase of your chosen diet. You can see the results in black and white from test results, energy levels and your weight.
THE CHASE: If you have maintained the diet for three months with measurable improvement each month in the areas you want to improve, you have found a winner.
Two bonus insights for a healthier you:- The healthiest people I know over 45 years old eat foods that help them feel great. They do not stress about food choices
- The unhealthiest people I know over 45 do exactly the opposite. They spend a lot of energy micro managing food choices or not managing them at all.
