What is Plant-Based?

All MamaSezz meals and snacks are whole foods, plant-based. What's that mean exactly? It means all the food we make and ship is made from whole and unrefined fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, and legumes.

A whole foods, plant-based diet does not include meat, dairy, eggs, or refined products like white flour, refined sugar, and oil.

Our advice for those just transitioning to a plant-based diet? Start small. Don't overwhelm yourself by heading to grocery store in search of foods you've never heard of before. Instead, pick some of your favorite go-to recipes and try swapping some ingredients with healthier, plant-based options. Make stir-fry with chickpeas instead of beef. Add almond or coconut milk to your coffee over cream.

Why Eat This Way?

For us, eating plant-based isn't so much a diet - it's a lifestyle. And a healthy one at that! Studies have shown a plant-based diet can reduce your risk of (and even reverse) diabetes and heart disease, lower blood pressure, and lead to healthy weight loss

Eating this way is also better for the environment: 20 servings of vegetables have fewer greenhouse gas emissions than 1 serving of beef.

Good for your body, good for your planet. We're calling it a win-win.
