This unique spin on cranberry sauce has been a plant-based Thanksgiving staple in my home for as long as I can remember. My Nana passed this recipe down to my mother, who taught it to me, and now I’m sharing it with all of you. It’s quick, simple, and incredibly flavorful.
Even better, it’s packed with enough vitamin C to keep you healthy throughout the Holiday season (AKA flu season). Both oranges and cranberries are loaded with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories that have been proven extremely effective in disease prevention. So go ahead, help yourself to seconds, or even thirds! Happy holidays everybody.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
2 cups of raw cranberries
1/3 cup of maple syrup or date syrup (Try ¼ cup if you like your relish extra tart)
1 navel orange, peel and all
- Cut the orange into eighths
- Combine the cranberries, maple syrup and orange in a food processor and process until you’ve reached a relish texture (slightly finer than salsa)
- Enjoy next to your holiday favorites!
