Type-2 diabetes is one of the biggest risks. \nIn one long-term study, eating meat just once a week upped the risk of diabetes by 74 percent. In another, a half-serving per day of meat increased the risk of diabetes by almost 50 percent.\nThe other side of the coin? Plant-based diets have been shown to improve or reverse diabetes.
