The whole food plant based 4th of July recipes you won't believe are healthy

The 4th of July is a great time to be around family, fireworks, large bodies of water, and tasty food. But if you're new to whole food plant based eating you may be wondering what a 4th of July menu looks like without meat and dairy. Good news: it looks (and tastes) delicious! We've put together a plant based meal plan that'll please everyone at your table this Independence Day!

The 4th of July plant based meal plan you won't believe is healthy

1. Dairy-free vanilla milkshake

There’s nothing more American than a milkshake in the summertime! And believe it or not, this "milkshake" isn't just dairy-free, it's refined sugar free, too. So drink up!

2. Vegan broccoli raisin salad

Broccoli lovers and haters alike LOVE this creamy and sweet side dish. This 100% dairy-free broccoli raisin salad recipe originally came from MamaSezz co-founder Lisa Lorimer, and it’s as delicious as it is nutritious. I can't count how many times I've whipped this up for get-togethers. It's the perfect side dish to bring to your next potluck, picnic, or BBQ.

3. Raw Vegan Pesto Noodles

I love to eat raw whole food plant based dishes in the summertime. They're so refreshing! And these tangy pesto zoodles are the PERFECT raw side or main for your 4th of July.

4. Vegan Lemon Artichoke Spinach Dip

Protein packed and no dairy in sight, this vegan take on a party classic is a total crowd-pleaser for your whole food plant based 4th. Trust us! You will NOT have leftovers.

5. Vegan Spicy Street Corn

Corn on the cob is a 4th of July classic and this spiced up vegan version is a MUST for your plant based meal plan this holiday weekend.

6. Classic guacamole

Who doesn't love chips and guac? This simple recipe takes only a few minutes to make, leaving you extra time to celebrate the 4th of July. And it just happens to be whole food plant based!

7. Vegan Fruit and Chocolate Fondue Dip

Move over apple pie, there's a new 4th of July dessert in town and it's finger-lickin' good. Whip up this chocolate dipping sauce for pineapple, strawberries, and watermelon. Refined sugar free and 100% delish.

BONUS: 10 refined sugar free mocktails to keep you hydrated

These naturally sweet mocktails give you the hydration and energy you need to enjoy a full day under that 4th of July sunshine. And yep, you guessed it -- they're all whole food plant based.
